The fruit for Sam's Chardonnay was grown on the Murrindindi Valley Vineyard, looking on to the beautiful Cathedral Ranges in the Upper Goulburn wine region. The vineyard was established by the Cuthbertson family, with the I10V1 clone of Chardonnay planted in 1997.
The fruit was harvested on March 25th, and sent to press in tank. After settling, the wine was transferred to oak barrels for fermentation, and spent the following 7 months in French oak.
Expect aromas of white stonefruits, lemon curd, freshly baked pastries and flint. Beautiful oak derived flavours fill out on the palate, with citrusy acidity driving the finish.
