HEY TOMORROW, WINE FOR A HEALTHIER, HAPPIER PLANET.

Terroir.  It isn’t a very Australian term, in fact, it’s French, and cannot be simply translated into English, but it’s something we care about, a lot.  It’s a notion that encompasses many elements, including, but in no way limited to; weather, climate, landscapes, soils and people. Terroir is the coming together of a wine, and ultimately the reason it can be so site specific, fascinating, and delicious to drink. Changes to any of these elements, ultimately changes the quality of a wine, whether for better or worse.

The wines selected by Hey Tomorrow all come from their own unique Australian terroirs.  These terroirs are at significant risk from the effects of climate change.  Unless we make significant changes to the world's current carbon emissions, they will suffer the consequences of more frequent, extreme weather events. These events are harmful to grape vines and detrimental to the quality, and price, of the wine in your glass.

If you want to find out more on how seasonal climate will impact Australia’s wine regions, head to Wine Australia.

We take our responsibility for, and our impact on, the land around us seriously, so here’s how we are minimising our footprint and trying to make positive changes.

RECYCLING PROGRAM

The bag-in-box packaging format is made up of 75% cardboard and 25% plastic. The cardboard component is 100% recyclable and can be put in your household recycling bin. The wine bladders and taps can be recycled using pyrolytic conversion. However, this is not currently offered via council collection. It is important to us that the bladders are disposed of in a responsible manner. That is why we have partnered with Renergi, to keep plastics out of our waterways and landfills, and close the loop.

Renergi are working to bring pyrolytic waste conversion technology to Australia. We expect this to be available early 2022, although we are happy to accept returns now. The wine bladders and taps can be sent back to us via our recycling bags, which are free to order and return when you buy wine. We’ll even give you a free box of wine when you send us 10 bags and taps back.

OUR SOCIAL ENTERPRISE PARTNERSHIP – CARBON FARMING FOUNDATION

Hey Tomorrow and The Carbon Farming Foundation are working in partnership to tackle the challenge of carbon emissions from both ends, reducing carbon on production, delivery and carbon farming.

For Australia’s food and beverage industry to transition to net-zero carbon emissions, we need to reduce carbon emissions in the manufacturing and distribution of our amazing Australian produce, while also helping farmers to reduce emissions and store carbon in the landscape.

Hey Tomorrow are drastically reducing carbon emissions in the packaging and distribution of Australian wine, while dedicating 50% of profits to supporting Australian Farmers to reduce emissions and drawdown carbon, via the Carbon Farming Foundations DIY carbon farming programs.
