MIKE BENNIE REVIEWS HEY TOMORROW FOR THE WINE FRONT
Hey Tomorrow Syrah by Syrahmi (2L) 2019
Posted on 19 August 2021
Syrahmi’s Adam Foster does syrah for 2 litre casks under the Hey Tomorrow brand – a profit share charitable wine project. Nice one.
Game meat, exotic spice, dried sage and rosemary herb, white pepper, raspberry notes. Fine tannins, slick texture, excellent length, very savoury and more of the game meat character going on. This is very good syrah. Blow me down. Possibly one of the best red wines to hit a cask ever. Elegant, refined, regal red.

Hey Tomorrow Rose by Valentine (2L) 2020
Posted on 18 August 2021
New cask wines on the market with whizzbag, hip wine producers at the helm. All fellas (where’s the gals?!) but a roll call that includes Dom Valentine (here with rose of Yarra), Adam Foster (Syrahmi), Lethbridge and Phillip Lobely from Yea Valley. They’re very cool looking casks,
more akin to perfume boxes. Great vibes here, and pretty darn good value proposition for who you get making the 2 litres of wine.
Easy drinking rose, a bit peaches and cream, a bit strawberries and cream, soft and juicy, fresh feeling and generally a good time. A nice little smudge of tannin and chew in there somewhere, a blast of blood orange tartness to close. It’s a great drink here, if not a touch fancy! Winner.
