Hey Tomorrow Welcomes Sam Plunkett & Bronwyn Dunwoodie to the Team!

Big news here at Hey Tomorrow HQ!  We are absolutely thrilled to be welcoming husband and wife duo Sam Plunkett and Brownwyn Dunwoodie to the team!

Sam Plunkett, a renowned winemaker, has been making waves in the wine industry since he began his career in 1986. Starting as a cellar hand at Tisdall Wines in Echuca, he quickly rose through the ranks and took on winemaking responsibilities at the family business, Plunkett Wines. Later, he became the Chief Winemaker at Plunkett Fowles before finally establishing his own venture, Wine by Sam, in Seymour, Central Victoria.

With a passion for sustainable winegrowing, Sam has been at the forefront of the conversation in introducing innovative technology and techniques to reduce energy consumption. His commitment to sustainability was recognized when he was invited to present at the prestigious 2023 International Cool Climate Wine Show Sustainability Symposium.

Embracing Sustainable Practices

Sam Plunkett's dedication to sustainable winegrowing is evident in every aspect of his winemaking process. He sources fruit from various regions, including the Strathbogie Ranges, Heathcote, Pyrenees, Glenrowan, and the Yarra Valley. By carefully selecting vineyards in these diverse regions, Sam ensures that his wines showcase the unique characteristics of each terroir.

At Wine by Sam, sustainability is not just a buzzword; it is a way of life. Sam is a proud member of Sustainable Winegrowing Australia, an organization committed to promoting environmentally friendly practices in the wine industry. Through his membership, Sam actively contributes to the development and implementation of sustainable viticultural practices.

Reducing Energy Consumption

One of Sam's key contributions to sustainable wine growing is his focus on reducing energy consumption. He has introduced cutting-edge technology and techniques that minimise the winery's carbon footprint without compromising the quality of the wines.

By implementing energy-efficient equipment and processes, such as solar power and gravity-fed systems, Sam has significantly reduced the winery's reliance on traditional energy sources. This not only helps preserve the environment but also ensures that Wine by Sam remains at the forefront of sustainable winemaking practices.
