Syrahmi’s Adam Foster does syrah for 2 litre casks under the Hey Tomorrow brand – a profit share charitable wine project. Nice one. Game meat, exotic spice, dried sage and rosemary herb, white pepper, raspberry notes. Fine tannins, slick texture, excellent length, very savoury and more of the game meat character going on. This is very good syrah. Blow me down. Possibly one of the best red wines to hit a cask ever. Elegant, refined, regal red.

Adam Foster, is the face behind Heathcote based winery, Syrahmi.
 
He initially trained and worked in restaurants, as a chef, and later, a sommelier. These early career choices are what he credits his understanding of flavours to.
 
For Adam, learning winemaking happened on the job, with some of the industry bests no less! Stints at Torbreck and Jasper Hill in Australia, then Chapoutier and Domaine Ogier in France, honed his talent.   
 
A love of old-world Syrah, developed during his time in the Rhône Valley, led him to set up shop in Heathcote, a region he describes as having enormous potential for seriously good Syrah.
 
The Syrahmi Syrah was so popular, we thought it would be rude not to bring it back for another vintage. We think Adam has worked his wine magic yet again! Taking inspiration from the great reds of the Northern-Rhone, this deeply coloured wine gives concentrated blackberries, black plum and cherry, savoury olive tapenade and a minerality that sings of the Heathcote region. 
 
This wine is an excellent introduction to both the Syrahmi winery, and the Heathcote region.
